If games on their grade level are found to be too hard, then start with playing the previous year’s games. The previous year’s concepts must be grasped to help them with new mathematics concepts they will learn this year.
Plus keep in mind, all games are set to the standard students are expected achieve by the end of their school year. Students part of the way through a year may have not yet learnt concepts used in some games. Students may also have not fully grasped the concepts taught in the previous year. Most students will need to play the previous year’s games first, until that level is comfortably completed.
Also, it’s not necessary for your child to play the advanced versions of games. The standard version will have all the necessary concepts needed for their grade level. The advanced games can be a real challenge and often go beyond the basic requirements.
However, as we recommend students play the previous year’s games first, the advanced versions of the previous year should be played.
