Yes, they are an excellent tool for tutors. Every game refers to the specific concepts used from the Australian Mathematics Curriculum. Now you have a list of what to teach and what concepts your child should be learning. This makes teaching mathematics at home much easier!
Games are also designed to suit the curriculums of the U.S.A., Canada, and England. Games include the Metric & Imperial systems. They also include the currencies of all four countries.
The Super Challenge games focus on what needs to be learnt, plus areas that students struggle with the most. For example: “Money”, “Time” and “Fractions” It’s important that students grasp these more challenging concepts to help build their confidence and for them to try harder.
Plus, every activity comes with a follow-on worksheet that acts as a good gauge on areas they already grasp and what areas they need more focus on. The worksheets do not list a grade level, so students may be given worksheets from one- or two-year levels below or above their current grade. See our Parents/Tutors page for more details on how to gauge your student’s ability level.
